The Greek Alphabet
The Greek writing system is known as the Greek alphabet. From what I understand, there was a transition from an older writing system from the Mycenean period to what is now known as the first Greek alphabet. The Greek alphabet writing seems to first appear in archaeology around the 8th century B.C. What is known as the Linear B script was used first to record information in Greek, and it seemed to transition to what is known as the Greek alphabet.
