History of Pictographic Script
The pictographic script is an ancient method of communication where simple pictures or symbols are used to represent words, ideas, or objects. People created basic images that conveyed meaning instead of using letters as we do in modern writing. These images served as a visual language to convey information, tell stories, and share knowledge among ancient civilizations. The pictographic script was a foundational step in the development of writing systems and played a crucial role in early human communication. It eventually gave way to more complex writing systems, like cuneiform, as societies needed more ways to express intricate concepts and thoughts.
There are various dates attributed to the emergence of the pictographic script. However, the Sumerians are generally regarded as the pioneers, with a historical timeframe tracing back to 3200 B.C.
