Edgar Cayce (1877–1945), widely known as the “Sleeping Prophet,” was an American clairvoyant whose work made him one of the most extensively documented psychic figures of the 20th century. By entering a self-induced trance, he provided more than 14,000 recorded readings covering subjects such as health, dreams, reincarnation, past lives, ancient civilizations like Atlantis, and interpretations of biblical prophecy.

Although he was a devoted Christian, taught Sunday school, and had only an eighth-grade education, Cayce became known for describing illnesses and recommending natural, holistic remedies—often for people he never met in person. Many of these ideas gained broader acceptance decades later. In 1931, he established the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to preserve his readings and encourage continued research into their meaning.
Today, Edgar Cayce’s legacy continues to attract interest from those studying spirituality, alternative healing, and ancient mysteries. His work remains a significant influence for people exploring the connection between human consciousness, history, and the unseen aspects of the past.
